Beautiful red headed Mathilda

Mathilda is a beautiful red girl looking for her forever home. A good Samaritan picked her up and then surrendered her to the shelter. Norcal was able to pull her from the local shelter because she was having a tough time. She weighs 77 lbs but needs to lose about 10 lbs. She is timid of strangers but warms up with quiet coaxing. Mathilda is potty-trained and sleeps in a crate until about 7 am. She experiences a spurt of energy and then remains very calm for the rest of the day. She has limited training and is learning basic commands and how to walk on a leash. Initially interested in the meet and greet of dogs on walks, then moves on and is not interested in playing yet—no reaction to cats on walk. Everything is so new, even how to play with the toys at home. Doesn't bark at actions on the street, like the mailman, etc. - gets sad and vocal when a foster family member leaves, but calms down after a few minutes. That's the only time she barks and/or howls. She is currently being fostered in Palo Alto.
