Cooper is a delightful, senior golden retriever mix. He's a healthy 8 year old male that absolutely thrives with affection. He first came to NGRR as a matted mess that had been neglected in a backyard, but after a much-needed groom he is like a brand new dog and is happy strutting his new "lion cut." Cooper is excellent on the leash and loves to be walked, but he is also more than happy curled up next to you on the couch. He does very well with other dogs, but may do best as the only dog in the home because he craves all the attention he can get! He is housebroken and crate trained up to 2 hours. As he gets super excited for attention and occasionally jumps, we recommend kids ages 8+ in the home. Cats are ok with a proper introduction. As part of our wellness process, we discovered Cooper's need for a dental cleaning and a tooth extraction, which are scheduled to be completed on October 22nd. If you are looking for an active, senior companion and are mostly home and have the dedicated time to give him the attention he needs, please indicate your interest in Cooper on your adoption application.
