Still looking for a forever home

Meet Bonnie, a gorgeous 4-year-old Golden Retriever with a heart as golden as her fur! This 65-pound bundle of joy is house-trained, crate-savvy, and ready to charm her way into your life. Bonnie is a social butterfly—she instantly bonds with people and loves greeting visitors (sometimes with a cheeky hop, just to make sure you know she's "not supposed to jump"). Fetch? Not her thing. But hand her a tug toy and she’ll be your enthusiastic playmate! (Warning: plush toys don’t stand a chance—five minutes tops, and it’s fluff everywhere!) Bonnie’s energy is contagious, so she’s looking for an active family that can keep up with her playful spirit. She’s receiving top-notch training in her foster home through an in-house board-and-train program and has truly blossomed with positive guidance. A little background: Bonnie’s past included a not-so-friendly beagle roommate and some stressful times, so she’s understandably nervous around other dogs. She can stroll past them on walks like a pro, but she’ll feel safest as your one-and-only pup. Bonnie has lived with cats, kids, and adults, and is a master at navigating baby gates when needed. Bonnie is currently taking Prozac, prescribed by her vet behaviorist Dr. Sophie Liu, to help her relax and enjoy the good life. We’re searching for an experienced, dog-free home where Bonnie can shine as the star she is. She’s soaking up the California sun in San Jose—maybe she’s your new best friend!
