Manny

Manny is a beautiful red 1y, 1mo. neuter male Golden. He weighs 68 lbs. and is being fostered in San Jose. His wellness is complete: he was neutered last year, potty trained, crate trained, and decent on a walk. He rides well in the car but tries to sneak up to give you doggie kisses in your ears. He is quiet for his age and settles nicely. He had a rough start when the owner ended up with three male littermates, and typical of adolescent intact littermates, the boys started to bicker and then fight to exert dominance. The family removed the first dog they felt was the pack's alpha male and neutered the remaining brothers. The unacceptable behavior has now been tolerated. The good news is Manny loves the six kids (6-19 yo) in the home and appears to be doing well with people of all ages. We added him to a foster family with mature female dogs because he lived with two female dogs as well, and he did fine until he didn't like that the ball was not his, and he went after the female Golden. Toys seem to trigger him because he was not taught appropriate problem-solving behavior and will respond from fear. We are looking for an experienced home with no dogs, visiting dogs, or cats. He loves to walk, hike, and play ball. Must be willing to work on training and building confidence that Norcal will fund. Let us know if you have the perfect home for Manny.
