Beautiful Luna

Luna is an incredibly special Golden girl. As an experienced Momma, she loves her baby doll toys and carries them about. Luna likes other dogs but can’t play roughly and is easily knocked over so another older calm dog is ok. She loves people and takes treats in the gentlest way. . When she arrived, she flopped on a slippery kitchen floor and couldn’t get up and she has lots of trouble with steps. She has no sign of pain she doesn’t feel her foot positions. Moving to a “grippier” carpeted home including an entrance with rubber-coated handicap steps, outdoor acreage off-leash time, and lots of patience, she has gathered strength and even sometimes attempts to run. All this adds up to stable old high-spinal injury or congenital malformation. We have worked out a special cooperative technique for getting into the Outback, where Luna charges between my legs as she attempts to jump in, and I lift her rear end. Norcal has provided surgery for the growth through her lower eyelid and spay. She has also required some extended rehabilitation time to improve her balance and range of motion. I feel incredibly lucky to have had time to work with Luna. A permanent home will have to be special with two adults dedicated to her needs and who will not give up on her if she has a few bad days. Children of any age and gentle cats would be a good fit too.
