Doug is a diamond in the rough and learning fast. Does great around the kids. I would still recommend kids over maybe 8 just because he is so strong and can get a little "mindless" when he is playing. He's a solid block of 73lbs. Loves to roughhouse with his foster buddy and it can get pretty crazy. Would recommend adopter to have at least moderate experience Needs work still on the leash and can't be trusted to be off leash. He doesn't flat out run, he just pretends he can't hear you when trying to call him back. Very good with other dogs Has quite a bit of prey drive so probably no cats. Barking has been a real challenge. He does not "alert" bark, he does it incessantly when he wants your attention. We have tried the ignore and walk away, the reward thing, the sharp correction. Nothing seems to stick yes but still working on it..

Just arrived and learning about this boy. Doug is being fostered with two other dogs and doing well. He is a silly boy that loves to be where ever his family is in the house. He is a big boy with lots of energy. He will need a family that can give him the time to get rid of his energy with long walks and hikes. Doug will be neutered April 5th. He does display some dominance behavior with younger children but takes correction well. His foster family is working on training. RIght now he pull when being walked and barks at strange things in the house.
