Bonded Pair - Caesar and Dugger - 6/14/25

Update write-up on the bonded pair: The boys are doing well with their recent move to Carson City, Nevada, and are becoming acclimated to their new environment. Caesar is a nine-year-old Labradoodle and is very energetic, and behaves like a puppy. He not only follows people in the house, but also runs (instead of walking) to them when they get inside. The previous fosters have worked to get his weight down from 100 to 75 lbs. We have completed his medical care and are now updated on vaccinations, microchip, senior panel, teeth cleaning and phenobarbital levels checked. Caesar is currently on phenobarbital twice a day to control the limited seizures he had in 2022 and 2023. His owner said he has only had three minor seizures that last about 20-25 seconds and never lost consciousness or his bowels. Caesar is closely bonded to his younger brother, Dugger. Dugger, a 3-year-old Golden Retriever, is very well-behaved and obedient. He is easily startled by strange or loud sounds and doesn’t seem to like baths too much. Duggar will eat quickly and then take advantage of Caesar's food bowl, so we separated them while eating. If corrected, Duggar will back up and move on to his toys. The dog's size, making the correction, does not seem to matter, as he also gives in to small dogs. Duggar must have several toys since he can carry 2-4 in his mouth at one time. Duggar is now neutered and current on his vet care as well. Both boys are house-trained, crate-trained, and good walkers with no leash reactivity. Both ride well in the car and will jump in without assistance. Limited basic training because they spent most of their adult lives with an elderly man, but are willing to learn new things. Caesar can be an escape artist and must be watched when the door is opened. The boys are being fostered in Carson City, NV.
